UPDATE: Miami Heat’s Erik Spoelstra gives update on Bam Adebayo

Regarding the hip injury sustained by Bam Adebayo, Erik Spoelstra provides an update.

During the first few games of the season, the Miami Heat have been bogged down by injuries. In the 22 games that they have played, they have used 14 different starting lineups, and Jimmy Butler described the team’s start as “mediocre.”

Erik Spoelstra, the head coach of the Heat, has stated that he does not have a timeframe for Bam Adebayo’s comeback prior to the game that will take place on Monday night against the Charlotte Hornets.

As a result of the Heat’s current record of 12-10, which places them in ninth place in the Eastern Conference, this is hardly the news that anyone wanted to hear. The good news is that it is still early, and they have a lot of time to prepare themselves for a healthy future.

In order to avoid overworking Butler during the regular season and another play-in game, the Heat want to avoid doing both. The Heat are in a difficult situation as a result of the injuries sustained by Adebayo and Tyler Herro.

Prior to the injury, Adebayo was off to a strong start on both sides of the floor throughout the game. While serving as the defensive mainstay for the Heat, he was averaging 22.2 points and ten rebounds a game.

It is not the first time that Adebayo has attempted to recover from a hip injury. It was in March of the previous year that he experienced a similar problem. On the 28th of October, he sustained this hip injury as a result of a heavy fall that occurred during the game against Minnesota. At the shootaround that took place today in Charlotte, Adebayo was there with the team. Because of this, it is logical that the Heat would be cautious with regard to the injury.

Bam Adebayo: Heat aren't in it for a 'fairy-tale story'

Over the course of the playoffs, the Heat have more ambitious goals than simply claiming a couple victories. They appear to be a squad that is built for another deep playoff run, as they have received substantial contributions from the bench players for the team.

In the meanwhile, the Heat will need to continue to look for measures to maintain their financial stability.
