Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics was ejected for the first time in his eight-year career Friday night following a pair of disagreements with officials.

Brown’s shocking penalty came with the Celtics leading the Knicks, 119-107, in the fourth quarter in Boston. A reach-in foul called on Brown when he was guarding Knicks guard Immanuel Quickly elicited an intense response and a brief dispute, resulting in a technical penalty.

Brown remained fighting over the call as New York hit the technical free throw before being subbed out of the game. Brown, on the other hand, said a few additional words about the play from the bench, resulting in a questionable second tech and expulsion.

The Celtics fans booed as Brown challenged the call while a handful of his teammates and coaches held him back before escorting him to the locker room. 

Brown’s two technical fouls were the 23rd and 24th of his career, and they’ll undoubtedly be an interesting postgame topic when the two-time All-Star takes the platform to speak with the media.

Brown had 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting and four assists in 27 minutes before being ejected.
