Cristiano Ronaldo: Al-Nassr Striker Celebrates 1,200th Career Game with a Goal and an Assist

During the 1,200th professional match of his career, Cristiano Ronaldo scored one goal and assisted on another for the Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr. This marked the significant milestone in his career.

The 38-year-old player scored during a 4-1 victory over Al-Riyadh by tapping in a cross from Sadio Mane and then setting up his teammate Otavio.

But Ronaldo added that he was “not done yet” after expressing his gratitude to everyone who had assisted him in reaching the benchmark.

During the current season, the Portugal attacker has scored 16 goals in 15 games, making him the leading scorer in the Saudi Pro League.

Peter Shilton, a former goalkeeper for England, is recognized as the person who holds the record for the most competitive professional appearances in the men’s game. He accomplished this feat with 1,387 appearances.

The Saudi Pro League announced on social media that Ronaldo had attained the milestone, and the player later updated his Instagram account with the following message: “Three more points! I am grateful to each and every member of my squad who assisted me in reaching my 1,200th match. Oh, what a ride, but we are not yet finished with it!

During the month of February in the year 2020, Ronaldo scored a goal for Juventus in the Serie A competition, marking his 1,000th senior appearance.

When he played for Portugal against Iceland in June, he made history by being the first men’s player to achieve 200 appearances for the national team. In addition, he holds the record for the most goals scored by an international player; he has scored 128 goals.

When it comes to the records he has set for his club career appearances, Ronaldo is at the top of the list for all-time appearances in the Champions League. He has played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus in different Champions League matches.

When he exceeded that amount while playing for Manchester United in December 2021, he became the first player in the history of the sport to score 800 goals throughout his career at the highest level. Since then, he has surpassed the 850-goal milestone.

In the standings, Al-Nassr continues to hold the second spot, seven points behind the leaders, Al-Hilal.
