Fans criticize Bruno Fernandes for his ‘BAD’ penalty against Chelsea

Because of his missed penalty kick against Chelsea on Wednesday, Bruno Fernandes has been subjected to mockery. This missed penalty kick prevented Manchester United from grabbing an early lead at Old Trafford.

Following the foul committed by Chelsea player Enzo Fernandez on Antonio within the penalty area, the United captain was given the responsibility of taking the penalty kick.

In his run-up, Fernandes relied on his typical hop-skip-and-jump routine, but he managed to strike the ball into the right side of the goal, which provided Blues goalkeeper Robert Sanchez with an easy opportunity to make a save.

Prior to denying Fernandes, Sanchez had only saved one penalty in the Premier League. Earlier in the season, the goalkeeper had also saved James Ward-Prowse’s shot from 12 yards out. Sanchez went on to save Fernandes’ penalty.

With the help of an opportunistic close-range strike from Scott McTominay, United eventually seized the lead against Chelsea. However, the bad shot that Fernandes took did not impress the football fans.

Fernandes held his head in his hands after his tame effort was comfortably saved

Immediately upon the successful completion of his first attempt, Fernandes cradled his head with his palms.

An observer posted the following comment on Twitter: “Bernard’s penalty was terrible.” The only exception is Sanchez’s.

Following Sanchez’s celebration of his courageous performance in the penalty area, another player commented, “Pathetic penalty by Bruno Fernandes.”

There were some individuals who drew parallels between Fernandes’ missed penalty attempt and the way in which Jorginho, a midfielder for Arsenal, would prepare himself before taking a penalty kick.

Fernandes has missed only three penalties in the Premier League prior to Wednesday, demonstrating that both players have chosen similar methods that have mainly been successful throughout their careers.

One person on the internet expressed their reaction by saying, “Lol, I can’t believe Bruno is doing his worst Jorginho impression and getting it horribly wrong.”

Someone else made a remark, saying, “Bruno, you hop-skipping dummy.” The pen is terrible.

Despite the fact that the 29-year-old is United’s primary penalty taker, Marcus Rashford was recently given the responsibility of taking penalties against Everton. However, Rashford was relegated to the bench because of his performance against Chelsea.
