Regarding his development, Poole shared the following with Sam Amick of The Athletic:
“To combat it, I approach it as though I’m seeing what functions best for these guys at the top. I observe it each day. I am observing Klay’s actions. I’m observing Steph’s actions.””For example, how they exercise, when they exercise, for how long, with whom they exercise, and what they do throughout their workouts, correct? It shouldn’t even be that difficult because it functions.”
He went on:
“What would motivate you to attempt something different? It goes without saying that you want your game to be distinctively your own. Although the formula is sort of there, you still want to have your own unique flair. And just adhere to the study plan if that’s what you truly want.”
This year, Jordan Poole’s debut postseason campaign got off to an explosive start. Against the Denver Nuggets, he has averaged 21.2 points on 54/48/84 shooting splits in his first five games.
Steph Curry’s gradual return to the starting lineup after a month-long injury layoff prior to the start of the playoffs was made possible in large part by Poole.
Poole solidified his position alongside Steph Curry and Klay Thompson in the Golden State Warriors’ new “death lineup.” When the three guards, Draymond Green, and Andrew Wiggins are on the court, the Warriors are unbeatable.
Green and Wiggins’ skill on defense, along with the offense’s spacing, provide Steve Kerr with the ideal combination to work with.
Jordan Poole has a great chance to lead the Warriors back to the NBA Finals for the first time in three seasons if he can keep producing the goods at a high clip.
The Memphis Grizzlies are a formidable defensive club that the Golden State Warriors will next play. They will play one of the two defensive titans, the Dallas Mavericks or the Phoenix Suns, if they prevail in that series.
Moving forward, Poole’s scoring and opportunity-creating skills will aid the Dubs in taking on these teams.
