Durant elaborated on Booker’s distinctive on-court abilities during a post-practice press conference:
“It’s just special to play with a player who understands the game at [a high] level,” Durant said via the Suns’ X account. “[Booker] has been at the highest level of basketball playing in the Finals, playing in the Olympics, playing in All-Star games.”
The NBA All-Star continued,” [We] always have constant communication about what we see out there. And so it makes the game easier for everybody when we’re both on the court. So you know, the more games the more reps we get under our belt the better we’ll become as a team.”
While Phoenix’s current record positions them favorably in the top half of the Western Conference, the team’s aspirations extend beyond regular season accolades. The Suns are steadfast in their pursuit of securing an NBA Championship.
Following their exit in the second round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs at the hands of the Denver Nuggets, Durant and Booker are determined to showcase their dominance to the world. Notably, both stars currently rank in the top 15 in the league for points per game, according to ESPN.
Additionally, Phoenix’s prospects for success are expected to further improve with the return of Bradley Beal to the lineup after recovering from his preseason injury.
The Suns are gearing up for a crucial NBA In-Season tournament matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers. The outcome will determine which team advances to the tournament semifinals.
