According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the player, who is 33 years old, and the franchise are at odds regarding the particulars of a possible contract extension.

It has been brought to my attention that there has been absolutely no progress made about Klay Thompson’s extension in the Golden State Warriors organisation. Wojnarowski explained to ESPN that this is due to the fact that they are still separate in terms of years and fortune.

Klay Thompson, a consistent member of the Golden State Warriors, spent his entire National Basketball Association career with the Californian franchise, during which he won four championships and was nominated to the All-Star team five times.

Due to a damage in his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and an Achilles injury, Thompson had a minor impact on his team between the years 2019 and 2022. He returned to his pre-injury form shortly after his comeback in the early part of 2022, and he was instrumental in his team’s victory in the NBA championship that year.

Finally, but certainly not least, during the regular season of the 2022–23 season, he averaged 21.9 points per game while shooting 41% from outside the arc. In the postseason, he averaged 18.5 points and 4.2 rebounds from the field.
