Lebron James’ son Bronny James is cleared by doctors to ‘fully return to basketball’ after suffering cardiac arrest

After suffering a heart arrest in July, USC basketball player Bronny James has been given the all-clear to resume his training and play basketball again.

After experiencing a cardiac arrest on July 24 while participating in a basketball session at the Southern California university, the son of NBA legend LeBron James, who was 19 years old at the time, was later diagnosed with “an anatomically and functionally significant congenital heart defect” by medical professionals.

Within a statement that was distributed to PEOPLE on Thursday, a representative for the James family revealed that Bronny will be returning to the courtroom in the near future.

“Bronny James has been given the all-clear by his medical professionals to resume his full basketball career. The statement read that Bronny will have a final evaluation with the USC staff this week, that he will resume practice the next week, and that he will return to games shortly after that.

Because of his health worries, Bronny was unable to take part in the first few months of practice with his teammates at USC, as well as the first few weeks of games for the Trojans.

USC’s current record for the season without Bronny is five wins and two defeats. This is the current standing of the team.The James family issued a statement on Thursday, in which they expressed their gratitude to fans and friends for their support during Bronny’s recovery.

After his son was released from Cedars Sinai on July 27, LeBron James issued a statement on Twitter, which is now known as X. In the post, he expressed his gratitude to the many individuals who were giving his family love and prayers.

He sent out a tweet that read, “We feel you and I’m so grateful.” “Everything is going pretty well. We are not only secure and well, but we also have our family together, and we can sense your love. I wanted to take this opportunity to express to everyone how much your support has meant to each and every one of us. I will have more to say when we are ready.  In May, LeBron James referred to the day that his kid made his commitment to play basketball for the University of Southern California as “one of the best days of my life.”
