Real Madrid’s midfielder, Jude Bellingham, has etched his name in the club’s history by becoming the first player to score in each of his first four Champions League matches, surpassing the previous record held by Cristiano Ronaldo.
Since his €106m move from Borussia Dortmund, Bellingham has made an exceptional start in Spain, netting 15 goals in 16 matches and earning prestigious individual awards like the Kopa Trophy and the Golden Boy.
Earlier in the season, the 20-year-old matched Ronaldo’s La Liga record by scoring four times in his initial three games. Now, Bellingham has elevated his status even further by achieving the unprecedented feat of scoring in each of his first four Champions League appearances. Wearing the iconic number five shirt, he has already surpassed Zinedine Zidane’s highest single-season goal tally for Real Madrid.
Playing in the number ten position, Bellingham showcased his goal-scoring prowess by getting behind the Napoli defense and heading the ball into the net, securing a 4-2 victory for Madrid. Additionally, he displayed his playmaking abilities by setting up Joselu with a phenomenal pass deep into injury time.
The England international, expressing his deep connection with the club, believes he was born to play for Real Madrid and thrives under the pressure of representing the historic institution.
He said: “Yes, I think so too. I love the responsibility. My teammates help me a lot also.”
