Talk about the Los Angeles Lakers getting a third star to go with LeBron James and Anthony Davis will only intensify as the team plays more games this season. LA has been looking for a third complimenting star for a long time, but they haven’t found one yet.
Zach LaVine, an All-Star with the Chicago Bulls who has been dissatisfied with his circumstances, has been mentioned as a potential target for the team. In the future, LA is anticipated to speak with the Bulls about a possible deal; perhaps they can reach an understanding.
NBA source Shams Charania gave some information about what Chicago may need in return from LA in the event of a LaVine deal.
The Lakers would be hard hit to lose Reaves, and the front management might not be open to trading him. He is currently on a very team-friendly contract and is one of this squad’s more significant players.
LaVine would be a fantastic addition, but the best combination would be LaVine and Reaves. The Bulls might be persuaded to consider a deal by LA’s other assets.
The Bulls might only agree to send LaVine to LA, though, if Reaves is also involved. The Lakers will have to make a difficult choice if that is the case.
The Lakers would have a far greater chance of winning the NBA championship this season with LaVine’s skill set complementing that of their other talents. He is athletic enough to make a strong run at the basket and might relieve James of some of the ball handling responsibilities.
In addition to being a competent three-point shooter, his ability to generate his own shot would be beneficial to this club. Currently shooting 33.6 percent, he is having a poor year from deep, but his lifetime shooting percentage is 38.2 percent.
Although it’s unclear if LA would make the move, landing LaVine would be a highly intriguing move for the Lakers. As the trade deadline approaches, this is one situation to keep an eye on.
