Pat Riley
Heat boss Pat Riley’s NBA career is unmatched. Five-time coach, two-time executive, and champion player, he has enough rings for both hands. The basketball Hall of Famer owns luxury houses on both coasts.
The two-bedroom Malibu property he bought in 1989 for $1.6 million during his legendary tenure as Los Angeles Lakers head coach remаins his. The former coach loved his gated subdivision overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Riley bought a three-bedroom home in 2000 for $2.5 million and another three-bedroom home next door in 2007 for $7 million.
Riley may have connected the three homes to form a large compound. In 2013, his first Malibu home was listed for $18,500 a month on the luxury rental market.
Three lucky residences are in one of the country’s most expensive real estate markets. How are home values in this neighborhood? A four-bedroom property down the street from Riley’s is listed for $12.5 million.
Riley lives in a luxury penthouse in South Beach’s Apogee skyscraper. Riley bought his top-floor, four-bedroom unit for $11,750,000 in 2008 after retiring from coaching.

Erik Spoelstra
In a league full of firings, Riley hired the unheralded Erik Spoelstra to coach the Heat in 2008 and has kept him. He won two championships in Miami despite the LeBron James era’s first storm.
As the league’s second-longest-tenured head coach, Spoelstra is back in the title figҺt for the sixth time.
He bought his elegant six-bedroom Coral Gables home for $4,395,000 in February 2017. “Boater’s paradise” was listed for $5,490,000 in June 2015. Spoelstra bought it for $22,500 a month as a luxury rental. It has a cinema room, private in-law dwelling, boathouse, and dock on an Atlantic Ocean canal.
Jimmy Butler
Heat franchise player Jimmy Butler guided Miami to the finals. Butler’s braggadocio and brilliance gave him the Playoff Jimmy nickname. He shines most when the intensity is up. The six-time All-Star fits the Heat’s all-out style of basketball.
The talented forward, known as Jimmy Buckets, played in Chicago, Minnesota, and Philadelphia before joining Miami.
Butler has managed properties across the country as a well-traveled and wealthy superstar. In the off-season, he lives in sunny Poway, CA, near San Diego. He bought Matt Kemp’s 15,844-square-foot house in 2020.
A 2015 piece placed Butler in the same residence as a Southern California renter. He liked the mansion enough to buy it at a huge bargain. Kemp listed the home for $11.5 million in 2016, but Butler’s LLC bought it for half that amount.
Butler loves Chicago even after he left the Bulls in 2017. His Chicago River North condo is two bedrooms. The house cost him $1.2 million in 2018. Butler liked The Ronsley building’s exposed brick, lofty ceilings, and solitude.
Butler sold a majestic River North Chicago mansion to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The $5 million, 10,000-square-foot brick home with three outdoor spaces listed in July 2017. In November 2017, it sold for $4.2 million.
Butler was stylish during his one season in Philly. Camp Woods Estate, a six-bedroom Ambler home, was his rental. The residence “offered fully furnished with luxurious modern furnishings” listed for $6 million in August 2020 and sold for $4.1 million two months later.
Butler’s Florida activities has also been intriguing. After signing a four-year, $184 million contract with the Heat in August 2021, he sold his Miami property for $4.5 million. He sold the seven-bedroom property for $7.11 million, making a profit.
Later, in January 2022, Butler bought a $7.45 million South Miami six-bedroom house. A gated enclave of 12 homes seemed like the perfect place to settle down. Butler had other intentions. Five months later, the mansion sold for $7.5 million. Since that sale, Butler’s destination as the Heat’s championship leader is unknown.
Kevin Love
After joining the Heat in February, Love has offered key interior support off the bench. Previously, he won the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers title. After being released by the Cavs earlier this season, he hasn’t had time to sell his Cleveland house.
The gated Bratenahl five-bedroom home cost $1.3 million in 2015. Unless Love likes staying in Cleveland when his career pulls him abroad, the mansion will likely be listed this summer just blocks from Lake Erie.
Why bother with Cleveland when NYC is your off-season home? According to a 2020 story, Love and his wife bought 70 Vestry in Tribeca.
The Robert A.M. Stern-designed Hudson River waterfront skyscraper offers a “complete lifestyle package” with concierge, 82-foot indoor pool, and gathering spaces.
Love may be living in a Coconut Grove luxury condo in Miami. One Park Grove’s three-bedroom condo was listed for $42,000 a month.
Bam Adebayo
Similar to Love, Heat forward Bam Adebayo seems to rent and enjoys high-rise life. Since joining the Heat as a rookie in 2017, we couldn’t discover any proof that Adebayo has bought a home.
In the middle of a five-year, $163 million contract deal, Adebayo may still be a renter, but we doubt it.
He appears to live in a high-floor flat in downtown Miami’s 50 Biscayne building. Renting for $3,000 a month in 2017, the property was a 10-minute walk from the Heat’s arena. The rate and Adebayo’s status have likely increased over the past six years.
Udonis Haslem
One player on the Heat predates Spoelstra, who appears to have coached them forever. Three Miami championship teams have featured Udonis Haslem since his 2003 debut. After seven seasons as a mentor, Haslem remаins on the squad due to Heat management’s admiration.
This is his last season in uniform, however he may become an advisor or coach for his lone team. Thus, he may keep his 2007 $3.2 million Southwest Ranches five-bedroom home. The “French Country-style” estate lies on roughly three acres in this professional athlete-friendly area.
Tyler Herro
Herro has been hurt during the Heat’s playoff run, but he can rehab his hand in his Pinecrest house. He paid $10.5 million for the eight-bedroom property at the end of 2022, a local record.
The 2021-built spec mansion, “The Crown Jewel of Pinecrest,” was listed for $11,850,000 in August 2022. The 9,505-square-foot tropical, modern, and vaguely Balinese home has lush landscape, water features, and elegant interiors.
Kyle Lowry
Veteran point guard Kyle Lowry is seeking his second title after winning with the Toronto Raptors in 2019. Lowry may rent in his second Heat season. He’s linked to a $17.4 million Coral Gables, FL, mansion bought in 2021, but we’re not convinced it’s his.
The Heat players also stay at The Elser Hotel and Residences in downtown Miami, steps from the arena. Players like the premium building’s pool with private lounges, business facilities, and yoga grass.
We don’t know where Lowry lives in Florida, but he bought a four-story Wayne, PA, estate for $2.6 million in 2015. Built in 1932, the English-inspired mansion was refurbished and upgraded in 2009.
