After the final whistle, Alexander-Arnold shared: “I received the ball from Darwin. I could feel that there were many defenders in front of me and I tried to put it through the goal. Luckily it was found space in the bottom corner and that’s what we needed. It’s nice to celebrate in front of the away fans, you can see different faces and it’s funny.”

The Liverpool star’s way of celebrating caused a backlash on social networks, and the defender born in 1998 was at rιsk of receiving a penalty. According to The Sun, Rule 12 from the FA stipulates that a player “must receive a warning” for “provocative, taunting or inciting gestures or actions”.
