UPDATE: Requesting a trade was the best decision of my career, Kyrie Irving said after he was traded from the Brooklyn Nets

It is likely that Kyrie Irving is not experiencing the same level of stress as he experienced in Brooklyn now that he has relocated.

The Brooklyn Nets’ superteam of Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and James Harden never came together, and the team never won a championship. This was due to the fact that Irving was unwilling to acquire the CoVID vaccine, and New York City was requiring all residents to get vaccinated against the virus at the time.

It is true that Harden’s transfer request was initially made because of his dissatisfaction with Irving; nevertheless, Irving swiftly followed suit and made his own trade request. Irving’s first game as a member of the Dallas Mavericks will take place on Friday, and it will be held against the Brooklyn Nets.

In an interview with Brian Lewis and Dan Martin of the New York Post, Irving was quoted as saying that he is content with the decision that he made.

Still, “asking for a trade was the best decision of my career,” as Irving put it. “I realized I required calmness.

Irving expressed his belief that the media was providing an inflated account of the issues that he and the Nets were experiencing.Irving made this statement after the Mavericks practice on Thursday. “I was never on bad terms with the organization,” he added. It seems to me that the media caused a great deal of confusion and noise in the situation. There was no one who was aware of what was going on behind the scenes, and I am not pointing the finger of blame at you.

It was not simply that Irving had issues with the Nets and his ability to play for them; there were other factors at play as well. Following the rebellion that occurred on January 6, Irving decided to take a leave of absence in the middle of the 2020-21 season for “personal reasons.” After tweeting about a film that was considered to be anti-Semitic, Irving was dismissed from the team at the conclusion of the previous season. Following all of that, the Nets’ refusal to extend Irving’s contract for a maximum of four years was the final straw that caused the divorce to occur.

At this point, both sides were prepared to go their own ways. On the other hand, the Nets were well aware that after the exits of Irving and Harden, Kevin Durant would be the next player to leave, and that they would be need to start the process of rebuilding once more. Indeed, that is precisely what took place.

Since Irving moved to Dallas, his personal life has been kept out of the public eye, at least for the time being—at least for the time being. The opportunity to study triumph has been afforded to him as a result of playing with Luka Doncic. In the meantime, the Nets have started the process of rebuilding their team with a roster that is intriguing but not even close to being complete and is not even close to what it will look like in a couple of years.

The response of Brooklyn’s fans to Irving’s return on Friday night ought to be fun to watch happen. Despite the fact that Irving believes he has made the best choice for himself, the fact remains that he and Brooklyn are both a great deal further away from winning a championship than they were when they were still playing for the same team over a few years ago. The value of having that kind of peace cannot be overstated.
