During Monday night’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers player LeBron James eclipsed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most regular-season and playoff minutes in NBA history. James surpassed him with 54,645 regular-season minutes and 11,654 playoff minutes.
This is just the latest in a long line of achievements for James, who is in his 21st NBA season and continues to perform well. Of course, James eclipsed Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA’s all-time top scorer in February, with the icon himself in attendance at Crypto.com Arena to commemorate LeBron.
The Lakers’ current road trip has started off on a high one for James, who not only returned home to Cleveland and led L.A. to victory, but also launched his new museum in his birthplace of Akron.
Now, James is in Philadelphia, where he is shattering yet another NBA record in his illustrious career. In his 21st season, James is the NBA’s all-time minutes and points leader, having won four championships, appeared in ten NBA Finals, and won four MVPs. He is one of the finest to ever do it, and it’s fantastic to watch him doing all of this while wearing a Lakers jersey.
LeBron James discusses how Lakers can get more consistency from Anthony Davis
While James didn’t have his finest game when he returned to Cleveland, Anthony Davis was outstanding in the Lakers’ road victory. Davis’ performance demonstrated what he is capable of when his teammates provide him with consistent attacking looks. LeBron outlined what he feels will contribute to this goal.”Yeah, I mean, we have high expectations for AD. We want him to be aggressive offensively but also anchoring our defense. Tonight’s game was an AD game. Defensively, they have those trees in Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley, and I thought AD did a great job attacking while also defending and covering the glass when those guards are getting into the paint, changing shots at the rim and getting blocked shots, and cleaning the glass. So AD came through big time for us tonight.”
