In his spectacular last-second shot against the New York Knicks, Devin Booker’s Phoenix Suns teammate saw a little of Kobe Bryant.
On Sunday, Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker channeled his inner Kobe Bryant against the New York Knicks.
With 1.7 seconds remaining, the three-time NBA All-Star hit a breathtaking fadeaway three-pointer over a double team. It was the last three points in Devin Booker’s 28-point performance in the Suns’ 116-113 victory over the Knicks.
According to AZ Central’s Duane Rankin, Booker’s Suns teammates and head coach quickly chimed in on his heroics versus New York.
Down the stretch, Devin Booker and Knicks lefty guard Jalen Brunson swapped shots. Brunson’s three-pointer with less than five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter knotted the game at 107.
With 1:18 remaining, Booker sank two free throws to give the Suns a four-point advantage. The Knicks, on the other hand, scored the next four points. With 21.1 seconds remaining in the game, Brunson blasted a 15-foot jumper from the right wing to tie the score at 113.
Unfortunately for New York, Devin Booker had just enough time to crush their hearts.
Booker’s fadeaway triple was difficult to execute since he had to get over a Knicks double-team. The Suns guard delivered a clear message to the rest of the NBA that he isn’t frightened of double teams. True, he made an incredible jumper in the style of Kobe Bryant.
After Booker’s basket, television cameras focused on an overjoyed Kevin Durant offering supporters high-fives. The former was unable to play owing to a painful right foot. Despite his absence, Phoenix won their sixth game in a row.
The Suns will want to continue their winning run when they play the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday.
