As a result of a right heel strain, forward Aaron Gordon was unable to participate in the game for the Nuggets. Denver was without two starters due to the fact that Jamal Murray had been sidelined since the beginning of November.

Devin Vassell scored 19 points, Malaki Branham contributed 15 points, Julian Champagnie finished with 13 points, and Keldon Johnson and Tre Jones each scored 10 points for the Spurs, who dropped their 12th consecutive game. The current losing run for San Antonio is the third longest in the history of the franchise. During the previous season, the Spurs suffered a string of 16 consecutive losses (beginning on January 20 and ending on February 28), and in 1988-1989, they had 13 consecutive losses.

Following a high-scoring first quarter, the Nuggets grabbed a 39-35 lead, but they went on to extend their advantage in the second quarter. Despite the fact that Wembanyama scored five consecutive points to bring San Antonio to within 42-40, that was the closest it would get to the final score.

First, Jackson made a reverse layup, then he fed DeAndre Jordan for another layup, and finally, Jordan made a putback dunk off of Porter’s failed three-point shot. The Nuggets went on a run that was 16-4, during which Strawther made a deep shot, Christian Braun and Jokic made layups, and Braun made two free throws.

At the three minute and seven second mark of the second quarter, Jokic’s floating bank shot made the score 68-48.

At the end of the first half, the Spurs scored eight consecutive points to bring their score to 72-60. They continued to come closer to the goal as the third quarter began. Following a basket from Caldwell-Pope that was made from 18 feet out to start the half, San Antonio scored seven more points to bring the score to 74-67.

The Denver Nuggets answered once more to extend their lead, as Jokic was responsible for two assists and a layup during their 16-4 run. After that, Jokic scored six consecutive points to put the Nuggets ahead 101-77 late in the third quarter, and they kept their lead going into the fourth quarter with a score of 107-84 in their favor.
