The GMC Hummer EV is one of the most intriguing upcoming electric vehicles, and brand ambassador LeBron James recently had the chance to check it out for himself.
The three-time NBA champion went live on Instagram to give his millions of followers a tour of the Hummer EV in Edition 1 form. Even though the vehicle he examined is a pre-production prototype that is not road-ready, it is an accurate depiction of the finished off-roader.
The basketball legend does not provide any new information about the electric pickup, but this is likely the first time that many of his followers have seen and learned about the EV. The ability to detach the roof panels on the new Hummer will undoubtedly make it more convenient for someone as tall as James.
The Hummer EV Edition 1 will be the first model to arrive on the market later this year, priced at $112,595. It will be equipped with three electric motors that generate 1,000 hp and 11,500 lb-ft (15,592 Nm) of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in just three seconds.
These motors are powered by an Ultium battery cell with a range greater than 350 miles (563 kilometres). Additionally, the truck supports 350 kW charging, allowing owners to add nearly 100 miles (161 kilometres) of range in just ten minutes.
