LeBron James is on his way to becoming a Hall of Famer, and his first official museum moves him one step closer to becoming more than simply a legendary figure on the court. The LeBron James Family Foundation is establishing the first official LeBron James museum in the world.
LeBron James’ Home Court is expected to be a multimedia storytelling experience that will take fans on a never-before-seen trip through LeBron’s life, from Akron to the NBA to the Olympics, and even in business and philanthropy.
The museum will be housed in House Three Thirty in Akron, Ohio, and will be dedicated to all of LeBron James’ accomplishments. The entire experience begins with his mother Gloria James reconstructing his Spring Hill Apartment #602. It takes fans through his historic Fab Five years at St. Vincent-St. Mary’s, his 2003 NBA Draft, and championship campaigns in Cleveland, Miami, and Los Angeles.
His Olympic gold-medal years are highlighted, as are his business and philanthropic endeavors, as well as his sense of community. His all-white 2003 NBA Draft suit, the infamous 3-1 drum set, his high school McDonald’s All-American jersey, and the original TV from his Spring Hill apartment are all key components.
“My dream has always been to put Akron on the map,” LeBron said in a statement. “Having a place in my hometown that allows me to share my journey with my fans from all over the world means a lot to me.” I’ve been known to hoard a lot of things over the years, and I always felt there would come a time and a place for them to be revealed. I’m very pleased of House Three Thirty, which my Foundation established to serve my I Promise families and the entire neighborhood.”
The LeBron James Home Court Museum will open on November 25th, and tickets are currently on sale.
