KING OF MONEY: Wayne Rooney’s £20 million luxurious home, complete with a supersized football field, magnificent fishing lakes, and a rooftop swimming pool

Wayne Riley and his family are returning to England, where they will live in the £20 million “Morrisons mansion,” which includes a swimming pool, two fishing lakes, a full-sized football field, and a movie theater.

The iconic Manchester United and England manager was just appointed as Birmingham City’s next manager, succeeding the sacked John Eustace at St Andrews.

Wayne, Coleen, and the whole Rooney family moved into their dream home in 2021.

During construction, their £20 million Cheshire residence was dubbed the “Morrisons mansion.”

On 40 acres of land, the estate has two fishing lakes, a movie theater, and a swimming pool.

Rooney is said to have paid a Cheshire property developer more than £4 million to have the gated mansion built (!).

His coaching staff and he had been living in Washington, but his wife Coleen and their four sons, Kai, Klay, Kit, and Cass, had remained in England.

But when he returns to live with them in their opulent Cheshire home after signing with the Blues, who are backed by Tom Brady, he will have their full support.

Rooney and Coleen, both 37, are the happy owners of a sizable real estate portfolio that includes houses in Florida, the Caribbean, and the United Kingdom.

Their £20 million, 40-acre estate with six bedrooms, on the other hand, is their crowning achievement.

The family moved into their brand-new home in December 2021.

It is claimed to be in Cheshire’s High Lake Manor.

In theory, Rooney and his companion may even introduce themselves as the lord and lady of the manor.

When the property was still under construction, we informed you that United’s all-time top scorer had a full-size football field built there, complete with a sitting area.

The five-a-side field even includes showers for his pals to change into; but, owing to his mansion’s distant position, he was unable to add floodlights.

He also has two artificial fishing lakes, a movie theater, a swimming pool, and a garage for his car collection.

Rooney is an enthusiastic fisherman.

Neighbors have previously mocked the house’s size and appearance, comparing it to a Morrisons supermarket.

Unlike a Morrisons, it now contains a wine cellar, TV lounge, snooker area, bar, and orangery.

The lavish Rooney mansion also has “his” and “hers” changing rooms, a steam room, a hot tub, and a vast indoor swimming pool surrounded by a glass pavilion.

It also features a wide patio, nicely landscaped gardens, and an elegant luxury car garage.

Rooney is reported to have paid around £4 million to a Cheshire real estate developer to build the house, which has separate elevators and a guest bathroom.

A second elevator connects the main area with the basement level, which has a big gym, pool, Jacuzzi, and movie theater.

When burglars attempted to break into Rooney’s Cheshire house in 2016, police intervened and the couple decided to build their dream home.

Despite growing up in deplorable conditions in Liverpool, the former striker’s big Barbados property, which he rents out for $25,000 per week, illustrates his real estate acumen.

In 2007, he spent £320,000 for a condo on Florida’s shore and £450,000 for his parents’ separate house in Liverpool.

He and Coleen, who are said to be worth more than £115 million, met when they were 16 years old and now possess properties all over the globe.

Rooney shone for England at the 2004 Euros and ascended through the ranks at his childhood club, Everton, before making the big-money move to Manchester United.

Under Sir Alex Ferguson, he won the Premier League and the Champions League five times.

Rooney became the club and country’s all-time leading goalscorer, breaking Sir Bobby Charlton’s record for both United and England, which is now held by Harry Kane.

Following an emotional return to Everton in 2017, he went on to become the club’s top scorer that year before joining Major League Soccer (MLS) club DC United.

The veteran scored 23 goals in 48 appearances for the American squad at the time, but he returned to England in a surprising transfer to play for Championship club Derby County in the 2020-21 season.

The youngsters can play on a full-size five-a-side pitch on the property (!).

While running DC United, Rooney has been living apart from his family in America.

The mansion features a cinema, a swimming pool, and a garage for his collection of automobiles.

When this crack in the building surfaced, the £20 million property was branded a “Morrisons mansion.”

Supporters said it resembled the supermarket’s facade.

There is an expansive gym, pool, Jacuzzi, and movie theater on the lower level.
