With 16.9 seconds left, Kuzma Һit a corner 3-pointer to trim the margin to 127-126.
In the last 12 seconds, Landry Shamet missed a corner 3-pointer that would have knotted the game after Antetokounmpo converted two free throws. Kuzma’s driving layup trimmed the margin to one with 4.2 seconds after Pat Connaughton missed two free throws.
The only other occasion Lopez scored 39 points was against the Detroit Pistons on April 6, 2011, with the New Jersey Nets. In a 119-106 loss against Boston on Wednesday, the 7-footer scored 28 points, his largest scoring total of the season.
