Journalist Christian Falk of Sport Bild claims that in the January transfer window of 2023, Manchester United made an effort to recruit Thomas Muller, a midfielder for Bayern Munich.

The Germany international was desired by Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag, and plans have been discussed to try to sign him again in January of next year.

Muller has spent his entire playing career in the Bundesliga with Bayern, scoring 145 league goals in 452 games over 16 seasons. At this point in his career, it’s unclear if Muller would find it interesting to play in the Premier League.After their prime seasons, Man United signed Casemiro and Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, although neither player has been particularly successful this season.

They really don’t need to sign a 34-year-old midfield player, and new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is not likely to sanction such a deal.

Although Muller is capable and experienced enough to play for Manchester United, the intensity and speed of the English premier league may be too much for him at this time.

The 12-time Bundesliga champion and World Cup winner can play a variety of attacking roles, and the Red Devils need a player who can succeed in those situations right now.
