Shaquille O’Neal wants to own a Las Vegas expansion club with LeBron James.
Former Los Angeles Lakers center Shaquille O’Neal has become a commercial entrepreneur after retiring over a decade ago. One or two O’Neal advertisements appear every 10 minutes on TV, and now the three-time Lakers champion wants to acquire NBA ownership.
O’Neal recently discussed his interest in owning an NBA club in Las Vegas if the NBA expands there, including whether he’d collaborate with LeBron James, who has a lot of money.“If there’s ever an NBA team that’s going to come here [to Las Vegas], I would definitely like to be involved,” O’Neal told The Messenger’s Arash Markazi.
“With or without LeBron, I want to be involved.”He also discussed his ideal ownership role and whether he would consider other sports besides basketball.“Not baseball,” O’Neal added. No, not baseball, but football or basketball. I want in. Two categories of owners. I’m the partly owner, the owner has bragging rights, and some guys prefer to make decisions.
I want to participate in decision-making someday.”
