Even after adding five players during the 2023 summer transfer window, Barcelona’s roster still lacks adequate depth in several different positions.

After Sergio Busquets left on a Bosman move in the summer, the pivot was Barcelona’s top focus. However, the team did not do enough to bolster the attack, especially after Ansu Fati and Ez Abde left for Real Betis and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Additionally, the Catalans had just Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Ferran Torres as first-team forwards before adding Joao Felix on loan from Atletico Madrid. At sixteen, Lamine Yamal was the only backup forward from La Masia.

So, when summer 2024 rolls along, Barça will be looking to bolster the assault. Vitor Roque’s arrival and the continued presence of Raphinha and Yamal in the starting lineup will focus on the left wing.

Leroy Sane of Bayern Munich is one of the players Barcelona is considering adding as an offensive addition, per a SPORT report.

The German’s current contract expires in 2025, and negotiations to extend it have not yet begun with the Bundesliga team. Bayern may therefore try to negotiate his departure next summer in order to keep him from leaving for nothing in 2025.

Even with the price cut, he would still probably be too expensive for Barcelona to afford at €50–60 million. If the option is still open, the source adds that the blaugranes will try to sign him for nothing.

Barcelona is also closely monitoring Joshua Kimmich, the superstar for Bayern. The midfield player’s contract is set to expire in 2025, placing him in a similar predicament to Sane.
