Golden State Warriors lost their 5th consecutive match, Thompson was heavily criticized

Aside from Draymond Green’s suspension and Stephen Curry’s injury, the Golden State Warriors have now lost five in a row.

Given the constant barrage of bad news, Golden State Warriors supporters might be going through their toughest period since the start of the season.

In addition to Draymond Green’s five-game suspension, Stephen Curry’s “shoulder” injury and team overload were factors. The Warriors recently suffered their fifth straight loss, falling to the Oklahoma City Thunder 109–128.

Stephen Curry and Draymond Green’s absences created a void that the other players were unable to cover. However, head coach Steve Kerr will use this as a chance to work out the new team and figure out how to rotate players to lighten Curry’s workload when he gets back.

This was successful when Chris Paul, Jonathan Kuminga, and Dario Saric all performed admirably in the starting lineup and scored double digits. With 21 points (8-13 FG), Kuminga by himself took the lead, followed by Chris Paul, who finished with 15 points and 8 assists.

Kevon Looney played really well even though he was moved back to the reserve group. In 19 minutes of action, he finished with 13 points (6-9 FG) and 11 rebounds, completing a double-double.

Chris Paul had 15 points and 8 assists

However, there are still two names to blame: Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson. Wiggins scored 12 points but had 5 TOs and shot 0-4 3PT. Next to him is Klay with only 1-10 FG (1-6 3PT) in 27 minutes on the field, scoring 5 points.

Thompson’s shooting rate since the beginning of the season is quite bad, only reaching 40.1% FG and 32.9% 3PT with 13.8 points per game. Compared to last season, all of Klay’s statistics are very low (21.9 points/game, 43.6% FG, 41.2% 3PT).

Particularly in matches where the Warriors are without a key player, fans are even more eager for the pitcher wearing the number 11 shirt to shine. But until now, Klay Thompson has never once responded to the fans’ expectations.

Klay Thompson only hit 1-10 FGs in 27 minutes of play

That’s the offense, but the defense was a disaster for Golden State when hosting a young and dynamic team like OKC Thunder. Coach Steve Kerr’s students have almost no connection and communication, leaving the “gunners” in charge. Thunder comfortably finishes in many situations.

Oklahoma City’s FG rate reached 50.6% FG and especially nearly 60% 3PT, throwing in 19 3-pointers the whole game. Of Thunder’s 44 successful shots, 31 were assisted.

To make things worse, Golden State also suffered a loss in numbers when Gary Payton II was forced to leave the field due to injury in the second half. Having already lost two important players, Green and Curry, the Warriors are expected to be absent more. a good defensive specialist on the perimeter.

The Golden State Warriors had a 5-game losing streak at this same time last year. At that time, Stephen Curry exploded with a 47-point game, helping the Golden Gate team stop the losing streak with a narrow 116-113 victory over the Sacramento Kings.

Now also facing 5 consecutive defeats, Golden State will not have a “head chef” come to the rescue. Instead, other names will need to express themselves and shine to turn the situation around for the Warriors.

The next match for coach Steve Kerr and his students is a rematch with the Oklahoma City Thunder next Sunday morning.
