Even though they didn’t play so well, Portugal still had an easy win against Iceland to finish the qualifying round with first place in Group J.

With a high level of confidence, Portugal faced Iceland in their match. They have already secured their spots in EURO 2024 with 27 points after 9 matches.

But Cristiano Ronaldo is still hungry for record-breаking performances, so Portugal plays with the same grit. 

The opposition team dug in for defense at the first whistle, which made life tough for Portugal.

But a pinpoint shot from Bruno Fernandes finally broke through Iceland’s two-layer defense in the 37th minute.

With this goal, the second half became even more lopsided. 

Bernardo Silva was a chronic agitator, making frequent and highly unpleasant returns inside the right wing corridor. 

The substitution of striker Ricardo Horta was made by coach Roberto Martinez in the 62nd minute. From this point on, the home team’s pressure was amplified. 

In the 66th minute, following Ronaldo’s earlier missed shot, Horta sprinted in to score. 

 The prior major contribution was the game-winning goal by Joao Felix. The other goalkeeper had no chance of catching the ball because it went wide.

Ronaldo did not manage to score a goal before the match concluded. On the other hand, Portugal won all ten of their qualification matches.
