Your Los Angeles Lakers’ 2023-24 NBA season hasn’t started as well as they would have hoped, and it appears that the team is looking to make some upgrades. Despite the fact that we are barely a month into the season, LA does not have time to waste this year.
They are reportedly interested in obtaining Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine, and it appears that the Bulls are more willing than ever to let rid of their star. Bringing in LaVine would provide the Lakers with a third star to complement LeBron James and Anthony Davis while also improving the team’s offense.
However, the Lakers are not interested in include guard Austin Reaves in any prospective LaVine trade. The claim comes from The Athletic’s LA source Jovan Buha.
Chicago may insist on the young guard, or they may not want to deal with the Lakers. However, LA may be able to find an alternative way to get LaVine.
Many in the league believe the Bulls will not get much for their star, owing to his injury history and contract. So the Lakers may take advantage of it while still giving a solid package centered on point guard D’Angelo Russell.
The Lakers should undoubtedly begin talks to sign LaVine, and if Chicago refuses to transfer him without Reaves, the Lakers should at least try. They are also interested in Bulls forward DeMar DeRozan and guard Alex Caruso, both of whom might fit in just as well with the squad moving ahead.
