According to reports, Salah plans to join Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad Club this summer. After acquiring Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar, the Saudi Pro League reportedly wants to lure another star of the Egyptian striker’s level to the league.
On the final day of the summer transfer market, the Saudi Pro League made a verbal offer worth £150 million, which was rejected by Liverpool’s board. According to The Athletic’s reporting, the Gulf state considered upping its offer to more than £200 million.
According to Daily Mirror, Saudi Pro League executives realized they couldn’t sign Salah before the transfer window closed and decided to reevaluate the issue in the new year.
When the transfer window reopens, Liverpool’s chances of winning the Premier League are said to be a major factor in that evaluation. After 12 games, the “Red Brigade” is only one point behind the league-leading Man City.
The Telegraph reports that Liverpool would reject any proposals for Salah in January because the “Red Devils” have too many battles to focus on just one. The Egyptian striker, however, may be traded next summer.
In other Liverpool-related news, TeamTalk disclosed that the “Red Brigade” is in the lead to sign talented young midfielder Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen. Coach Jurgen Klopp’s presence at Anfield is likely to increase Liverpool’s prospects of completing this transaction.
TeamTalk said that Bayer Leverkusen will sell Wirtz to any club willing to pay at least 80 million pounds. Meanwhile, sources told the German news outlet Suddeutsche Zeitung that Liverpool is willing to pay the £80 million that Bayer Leverkusen is asking for the 20-year-old player.
