Following a heated incident with Jaden McDaniels, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green were removed from the Warriors’ game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night.
Thompson and McDaniels got into a shoving contest two minutes after tip-off when Thompson put a hand on McDaniels on a Minnesota miss and McDaniels retaliated by ripping Thompson’s jersey.
Both squads arrived to separate the two. Green then entered the action, grabbing Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert in a headlock and yanking him away from the melee. Green was called for a Flagrant 2 foul, while Thompson and McDaniels were called for double technical fouls and expelled.
Green was ejected for the second time this season, the first coming in the Warriors’ home defeat to the Cleveland Cavaliers on double technical fouls.
The Warriors were already without Steph Curry due to a knee injury, thus they played without their Big 3. The Warriors’ game on Tuesday is their second in-season tournament game and their first on their home court.
