Barcelona prepare to sign 16-year-old prodigy for €100M, player will arrive at the end of 2024

FC Barcelona has prioritized adding future players to bolster the ranks of their junior team during the last three transfer windows.

As late as last summer, players like Mamadou Mbacke Fall, Noah Darvich, and Mikayil Faye joined to bolster the youth and reserve squads and are now making inroads into the main team.

Given the financial circumstances, it makes sense that more of these deals are being pursued. The goal is to acquire and nurture elite players within the team.

Arrival of Ibrahim Diarra scheduled for 2024

According to Albert Roge of Jijantes FC, Barcelona is planning to recruit 16-year-old wonderkid Ibrahim Diarra in accordance with that strategy.

Diarra, a winger with the ability to play as an interior midfielder, is presently connected to the Africa Foot academy in his native Mali.

The young player has already participated in a few training sessions with Barcelona’s Juvenil A team, and it appears that he left a strong enough impression for the team to sign him.

Even though Diarra won’t be formally joining until after he turns 18 in late 2024, the deal seems to be proceeding according to plan, as per FIFA rules.

Diarra’s Mali team played Spain Under-17 earlier today, where he faced a number of players who could become future colleagues, including Marc Guiu, Hector Fort, and Juan Hernandez.

He previously recorded three assists in five games for the Mali Under-17 team during this year’s Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
