Nike has introduced the seventh iteration of the Mercurial Dream Speed boots series, drawing inspiration from Cristiano Ronaldo’s prime years at Manchester United. The distinctive red and orange design pays homage to the boots Ronaldo sported during the 2008-09 season with United, just before his move to Real Madrid.

The latest 007 pair, unrelated to James Bond, showcases black X patterns on the heel and a white swoosh logo with a prominent black border. Described as inspired by ‘fiery energy,’ these boots commemorate the ones Ronaldo wore when scoring his first hat-trick for Man United. The Zoom Mercurial design is anticipated to be embraced by prominent players like Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappé, and potentially Darwin Núñez for men, while Nike ambassadors such as Sam Kerr, Caroline Graham, and Ada Hegerberg might adorn the Ronaldo-inspired boots on the women’s side.

The boots boast technical features, including a new football plate with a 3/4 Zoom Air unit tailored for football and an upper crafted from Vaporposite+ material to enhance ball control. Nike emphasizes the boots’ tri-star studs for multi-directional traction and toe-off center studs for explosive starts. The Mercurial Dream Speed series, launched in 2019 as a special edition for Nike’s elite athletes, has evolved through seven iterations, with Cristiano Ronaldo leading the way.
