Another honorable achievement has been bestowed onto Lionel Messi. Inter Miami has selected an eight-time winner of the Ballon d’Or as their Most Valuable Player for the 2023 season, despite the player’s injury problems in MLS.

After being selected as Inter Miami’s Most Valuable Player for the 2023 season, Lionel Messi was able to add yet another honor to his collection of trophies.

Despite the fact that Messi had only joined the club in June, after his departure from PSG, Miami declared on their website that he was their most valuable player for the 2023 season. This was in spite of the fact that Messi had previously played for PSG. With 11 goals and eight assists in his first 14 games for the club, it is safe to say that the eight-time winner of the Ballon d’Or has been a major factor in the club’s success.

Messi is without a doubt the most well-known athlete to have won the Most Valuable athlete title presented by Inter Miami. Previous winners of the award include Gonzalo Higuain and Lewis Morgan, but Messi is by far the most well-known. The news comes just a few days after Lionel Messi, captain of Argentina, was awarded his sixth Ballon d’Or. Messi’s success in helping Argentina win the World Cup in Qatar was a contributing factor in Messi’s win. 

Messi was successful in guiding Inter Miami to their first award, which was the first-ever Leagues Cup, but he was not successful in guiding them to the MLS playoffs. In point of fact, the 36-year-old forward only scored once in six matches played in the Major League Soccer (MLS) and was sidelined for the most of their remaining games due to injury.
