Personally, Lionel Messi had a bad day when he did not score or assist. The Golden Ball owner also missed the opportunity to create a miracle in stoppage time, with a free kick over the crossbar before the final whistle sounded.

The friendly match with New York City also officially ends Inter Miami’s 2023 season. Meanwhile, Lionel Messi will join the Argentina team to prepare for two matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifying round in South America against Uruguay (November 17) and Brazil (November 22).
