Barcelona added a few young players to bolster the youth ranks during the summer transfer window in addition to making some significant additions to bolster their first-team roster.
Noah Darvich is one such player that joined to elevate the academy ranks and is beginning to leave an impression.
The 17-year-old, who was brought in from SC Freiburg, has already made six appearances for Barça Athletic under Rafa Marquez. He has also made three appearances for the Juvenil A team in the UEFA Youth League, scoring one goal each time.
Ter Stegen and Gundogan guiding Darvich
Journalist Jordi Cardero reports that Ilkay Gundogan and Marc-Andre ter Stegen, two seasoned Barcelona first-team players, have taken a young player named Noah Darvich under their wing and are now mentoring him.
An ardent fan of Barcelona all his life, Darvich made a significant impact with Germany at the Under-17 European Championships earlier this year.
It seems that Gundogan and Ter Stegen, two of his countrymen, were impressed by his efforts there and are now supporting the young man in Barcelona.
Darvich has already shown promise by taking part in multiple first-team training sessions and leaving an impression on more experienced players.
He is reportedly receiving excellent care and guidance from Gundogan and Ter Stegen in particular, who are assisting him in adjusting.

Darvich is presently in Indonesia for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup with the German Under-17 national team.
He is one of nine young players from Barcelona, including Marc Guiu and Pau Cubarsi, that will compete in the event.
Darvich will be looking to replicate his brilliant performance from the Euros at the World Cup.
