Prior to the Lakers’ game against the Rockets on Wednesday night, Anthony Davis was deemed questionable. Due to a left adductor/hip strain, Davis was limited in his movement and only played 25 minutes in the Lakers’ 108-107 loss to the Heat two days earlier. Regretfully, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports that he has subsequently been ruled out of the contest.

In the latter half of the aforementioned game, with just over two minutes remaining, Davis appeared to have strained his groin. The Lakers center was groaning in agony during that moment, extending his hips to try to ease the pain, and maybe playing through it for the remainder of the game.

After the injury, AD continued to play for two minutes of the third quarter before Christian Wood replaced him. After taking a three-minute break, Davis was able to play for the Lakers for around five more minutes before opting to end the game.

This past Monday, during the last five minutes of play, Davis showed virtually little interest in the game. The Lakers lost by as much as 12 points as a result, forcing LeBron James and company to mount a spectacular comeback that was narrowly unsuccessful after Cam Reddish sank an open corner three that would have won them the game.
