King Bam Adebayo scored 30 points for the Miami Heat in a spectacular victory over the Grizzlies

November 9 – Bam Adebayo scored a season-high 30 points and added 11 rebounds to fuel the visiting Miami Heat to a 108-102 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.

Adebayo converted 14 of 16 attempts from the free-throw line and 8 of 15 shots from the floor. Following up his 22-point, 19-rebound, and 10-assist performance on Monday in the Heat’s 108-107 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers was that effort.

Jimmy Butler scored 15 points, while Miami’s Kyle Lowry finished with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists. The Heat won their first game on the road in four games and their third straight overall thanks to 14 points from Haywood Highsmith.

During the first quarter, Tyler Herro of the Heat sprained his right ankle after tripping over Memphis’ Jaren Jackson Jr.’s foot. Herro, who finished with six points and two assists in eight minutes, did not rejoin the game.

Jackson scored 28 points on 9 of 18 shots from the field to lead Memphis. Desmond Bane led the Grizzlies, who have dropped seven of their last eight games and are 0-4 at home, with 15 points, followed by Luke Kennard with 13 and Santi Aldama with 12.With 8:18 left in the fourth quarter, Aldama’s dunk cut Miami’s advantage to 86-85 before the Heat went on a 13-3 run. That sequence started with a three-point play scored by rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr., who then stole the ball from Jackson and hit a layup.

With 35.1 seconds left, Aldama made a 3-pointer to narrow the Memphis lead to just three points. But on the next possession, Jaquez answered with a 3-pointer to essentially seal the victory.After Memphis cut a nine-point deficit to one at the end of the third quarter, the Grizzlies took an 81-77 lead at the start of the fourth quarter thanks to 3-pointers from Aldama and Jackson. In response, Adebayo made two free throws and a mid-range jump shot to level the score at 81.

After Adebayo’s jumper, Jackson sandwiched a three-point play and another three-pointer to cut Miami’s advantage to 65-64 with 7:49 left in the third quarter. Before Highsmith added a floater to cap an 8-0 run, Lowry and Highsmith each sank a three-pointer. However, Jackson’s three-point play at the end of the quarter allowed Memphis to close the gap to 77-76.
