Manchester United had to leave Denmark empty-handed after an unbelievable 3-4 loss to Copenhagen in the fourth match of Group A of the Champions League.

This is also the third defeat after 4 matches for Coach Erik Ten Hag and his team in the European arena this season.

The disappointing result left Manchester United with only 3 points, facing the rιsk of being eliminated from the group stage.

Even if they continue to play with their current form, it will be difficult for the Old Trafford team to get a ticket to play in the Europa League.

On their away trip to Parken, Manchester United had a dream start when they took a 2-0 lead over home team Copenhagen after 28 minutes of play thanks to a double from Rasmus Hojlund.

The Danish striker broke the balance with the opening goal 1-0 for the Red Devils in the 3rd minute after Scott McTominay’s cross.

In the 28th minute, Rasmus Hojlund continued to score by scoring a goal that easily doubled the gap for the away team.

With this double, Rasmus Hojlund went down in Manchester United’s history as the first Red Devils player to score 5 goals in the first 4 matches in the Champions League.

Hojlund also became the youngest player (20 years and 277 days) to score an away double in the Champions League for the Old Trafford team.

Previously, former striker Dimitar Berbatov held the record of scoring 4 goals in his first 4 appearances for Man United when he moved from Tottenham in the summer of 2008.

However, Rasmus Hojlund ‘s joy   was not complete. Right before the first half ended, MU only played with 10 people (42nd minute) with Rashford’s red card and had to concede two consecutive goals.

Just 3 minutes after Rashford left the field, Manchester United let their opponents shorten the score to 1-2 after a very quick shot in the penalty area by Mohamed Elyounoussi.

At minute 45+9, Copenhagen was awarded a penalty after Harry Maguire touched the ball in the penalty area. On the 11m penalty spot, midfielder Goncalves easily defeated Onana to equalize 2-2.

Playing without players forces Manchester United to play with a low squad to counter attacks from the home team, as well as wait for opportunities to cоunterattack.

In the 68th minute, Manchester United received a penalty kιck after Maguire headed the ball into the hands of midfielder Denis Vavro. On the free kιck, Bruno Fernandes scored to help the Red Devils lead 3-2.

However, Manchester United could not preserve the result when they allowed Copenhagen to score two consecutive goals at the end of the match.

In the 83rd minute, Lukas Lerager ran in and finished from close range after Rasmus Falk’s pass, scoring a 3-3 equalizer for the home team.

4 minutes later, Roony Bardghji coolly launched a volley into the roof of Onana’s net, helping the home team come from behind to win 4-3 against Manchester United.

This result helped Copenhagen get their first victory to rise to second place in Group A with 4 points after four matches.

In this group, Bayern Munich officially won a ticket to the 1/8 round two matches early after winning 2-1 in the encounter with Galatasaray at Allianz home field.

Striker Harry Kane continued to show impressive performance, scoring both goals to bring victory to the Bavarian Gray Tigers.

With 12 points already obtained, Bayern Munich is 8 points more than the following opponents, officially advancing to the next round as the winner of Group A.

This makes the race to win a ticket to the remaining Champions League knock-out round of Group A expected to be very tense and drаmаtic when three teams, Copenhagen, Galatasaray and Manchester United, all still have a  chance  .

Copenhagen and Galatasaray have a slight advantage as they both have 4 points, while Manchester United only has 3 points. Galatasaray  is also somewhat “easier” when they no longer have to face the “big man” Bayern Munich.

According to the schedule, in the next match, Galatasaray will face Manchester United directly at home in a “life and deаth” bаttle for both teams. Meanwhile, Copenhagen will have a trip to Bayern Munich that is predicted to be difficult.
