A source from Bild newspaper confirmed the possibility of Real Madrid successfully recruiting Alphonso Davies.
The left back is a concern for Real Madrid this season. Fran Garcia has underperformed since moving from Rayo Vallecano, while Ferland Mendy has been injured for much of the season. This means that Eduardo Camavinga sometimes has to fill this role, such as in the second half of last weekend’s El Clasico win.
However, the club’s board hope to resolve this issue next summer by signing Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich. The 23-year-old has been on Real Madrid’s radar for some time and plans to leave at the end of the season.
When Davies’ contract with Bayern expires in 2025, he could be sold for cheap. Reports suggest it would cost Real Madrid just 50 million euros to convince Davies to leave Germany. This is looking increasingly likely as contract negotiations between Davies and Bayern have stalled in recent weeks.
Bild said the relationship between Davies and Bayern is currently at a low point. Specifically, this player’s representative is causing tension after comments in the media about the client’s future, especially regarding Real Madrid.
At this stage, it seems difficult for Davies to extend his contract with Bayern because he wants to become one of the club’s highest earners. If nothing is agreed between now and next summer, Real Madrid will take action.
