New York (AP)— Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 36 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to help the Bucks upset the Nets 129-125 on Monday.
Damian Lillard scored 21 and Jae Crowder 15. Milwaukee won its first road game of the season, improving to 4-2.
Cam Thomas’ fourth 30-point game of the season was 45 for Brooklyn. Mikal Bridges scored 31 and Lonnie Walker IV 19 points. Brooklyn dropped to 3-4 and 0-3 at home.
Brooklyn had center Nic Claxton and forward Cam Johnson out for the sixth consecutive game, and Antetokounmpo has 817 career points against Brooklyn.
The Bucks appeared set to pull away after taking the lead with a 17-5 third-quarter surge and scoring 12 of the first 17 points in the fourth after trailing by 10 in the second half.
The Nets took a 115-12 lead with five minutes left as Thomas scored seven points in a 12-0 run.
The Bucks scored 17 of the game’s final 27 points, led by Antetokounmpo’s nine points and two big blocks in the final minute.
After Bridges scored 11 first-quarter points on 5-for-7 shooting, the Nets led by seven after shooting 52 percent.
Milwaukee pulled within 32-29 when Antetokounmpo scored 12 in the first, including a late breakaway dunk. Milwaukee led 58-50 after making 10 of their first 12 points in the second quarter.
Brooklyn’s defense held the Bucks to one field goal in the final 5:03. Brooklyn ended the second quarter with a 17-5 surge led by Thomas’ 14 points, leading 67-63 at halftime.
