On Saturday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers were in Florida facing off against the Orlando Magic.
The Lakers got off to a bad start to the game and were never able to recover, losing 120-101.
Anthony Davis led the team with 28 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, one steal and seven blocks while shooting 10/15 from the field in 32 minutes of playing time.
He also made NBA history by moving up on the all-time scoring list.
Davis came into the evening with 15,971 career points, which ranked 119th, and he has now moved ahead of Kiki Vandeweghe (15,980) and Amar’e Stoudemire (15,994) for 117th.
The next player for him to pass will be Rasheed Wallace (16,006).
With the loss, the Lakers fell to 3-3 in their first six games and will play their next game against Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat in Florida on Monday evening.
Davis is now averaging an impressive 26.3 points, 13.0 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 3.7 blocks per contest while shooting 55.1% from the field.
Davis was the first pick in the 2012 NBA Draft out of Kentucky and is in his 12th season in the league.
He has played for the New Orleans Pelicans (and Lakers) and has career averages of 24.0 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.3 blocks per contest while shooting 51.9% from the field and 30.0% from the three-point range in 665 regular season games.
In addition, the 30-year-old has appeared in 55 NBA playoff games, and helped the Lakers win the 2020 NBA Championship.
