November 2—Klay Thompson’s disputed jumper from just beyond the free-throw line gave the Golden State Warriors a 102-101 win over the Sacramento Kings in San Francisco on Wednesday.

After Domantas Sabonis banked in a 20-footer from just above the foul line to put Sacramento up 101-100 with 14.5 seconds left, the Warriors advanced the ball without a timeout but couldn’t free Stephen Curry, their leading scorer with 21 points.
Instead, Thompson received the ball, and with time running out and nowhere to turn, the veteran made his game-winning shot.

Curry’s team-high points came on 4-for-10 3-point shooting, while his teammates made 7 of 21 from long range. The Kings, without guard De’Aaron Fox (right ankle), equaled the Warriors’ 33 3-pointers.

Sabonis led Sacramento with 23 points, 11 rebounds, and three offensive boards. Despite shooting 40.9 percent, the Kings grabbed 14 offensive rebounds to stay in the game.
