LeBron James, who else?

The Los Angeles Lakers star helped the Purple and Gold move to 3-2 on the season on Wednesday night at Crypto.com Arena with a 130-125 comeback overtime triumph over the Los Angeles Clippers without James Harden.

Harden was acquired by the Clippers on Tuesday in a sensational trade with the Philadelphia 76ers. Harden was in Los Angeles and around the club on Tuesday after the trade, but he didn’t suit up for the Lakers’ game on Wednesday.

Thanks to strong efforts from Russell Westbrook and Kawhi Leonard, the Purple and Gold led the Clippers 61-48 at the half. James did, however, lead the Lakers to victory with a dominant second half and overtime play.

In what was perhaps his best performance of the 2023–24 season so far, James finished with 35 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, one steal, and two blocks.NBA fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, commended James for “carrying” the Lakers on Wednesday night following the victory:

James is a 39-year-old player in his 21st NBA season, and his performance is unprecedented.

The four-time NBA champion, who shoots 53.0 percent from the field and 30.4 percent from outside the arc, averaged 22.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists going into Wednesday’s contest.

James obviously has another championship in mind, and he never fails to step up his play when his team most needs it.

On Saturday against the Orlando Magic, James and the Lakers will try to maintain their momentum.
