Jaylen Brown, the star forward of the Boston Celtics, had an exceptional start in the game against the Washington Wizards on Monday. Brown displayed his scoring prowess right from the beginning, putting up an astounding 27 points in the first half alone, leaving Jordan Poole and the Wizards in awe. Brown seemed to have an incredibly accurate shot, making almost every shot he attempted during the first two quarters of the game.
The Wizards had no answer for Jaylen Brown in the first half. Before this game, Brown had been averaging 19.0 points on a 45.5 percent shooting from the field in the Celtics’ first two games of the 2023-24 NBA regular season.
Brown’s performance in the first half, which included sinking seven 3-pointers, tied a franchise record. According to ESPN Stats & Info, “Jaylen Brown’s 7 3-pt FG in the 1st half vs the Wizards is tied for the most 3-pt FG made in any half in Celtics history.”
After a lackluster showing in the Celtics’ season opener against the New York Knicks, where he scored just 11 points on 4-for-11 shooting, Brown has clearly raised his game and is now determined to challenge and outperform opposing defenses. In a recent victory over the Miami Heat, Brown scored 27 points, making 11 of 22 field-goal attempts and sinking three 3-pointers. In the game against the Wizards, he continued his impressive form, finishing with 36 points on 13-of-24 shooting from the field.
With the impressive level of play he’s displayed, Jaylen Brown will undoubtedly be a marked man when the Boston Celtics face the Indiana Pacers in their upcoming game on Wednesday.
