With Real Madrid, Vinicius Jr. has inked a new four-year contract, the La Liga powerhouses announced on Tuesday.

The Brazil international will remain at the Santiago Bernabeu until June 2027 thanks to the contract extension.

At the age of 18, Vinicius made his debut with Los Blancos in 2018. Since then, he has made 235 appearances, scored 63 goals, and won nine major trophies, including two LaLiga crowns.

In the 2022 Champions League final, Real defeated Liverpool with a goal from the 23-year-old to win a record 14 European Cups.

Racist taunts have, however, clouded the Brazilian’s LaLiga tenure.

Vinicius was reportedly subjected to racist taunts following his injury time substitution during Real Madrid’s 2-1 victory against Barcelona on Saturday. This is only the most recent instance in a lengthy string of issues that he has had to deal with.

LaLiga declared that it had opened an investigation after acknowledging the occurrence.

As usual, LaLiga will submit the appropriate charges after identifying the people responsible for the racial slurs. This was stated in the statement.

“We are working with FC Barcelona and the Mossos d’Esquadra [Catalan police] to coordinate.”
