Liverpool to Reject All January Offers for Mohamed Salah, Report Says
Liverpool has reportedly decided to stand firm on its stance regarding star player Mohamed Salah. According to a report, the club will not entertain any offers for Salah during the January transfer window. Salah has been the subject of interest from the Saudi Pro League in the past, with a significant bid being rejected. While Liverpool has maintained that Salah would not be sold, there’s an expectation that offers may come in future transfer windows.
The next two transfer windows could be the last chances for Liverpool to recoup a fee for Salah. His current contract is set to expire in 2025, and unless he agrees to an extension or a sale is arranged, the club might risk losing him for free in less than two years. Even though there have been reports of Salah’s openness to a move to Saudi Arabia, Liverpool is said to be unwavering in its decision to keep him this season. Salah has had an impressive start to the 2023/24 season, making it even less likely that Liverpool would consider a mid-season sale.
The club may have to decide on Salah’s future at the end of the season, balancing the desire to keep a top player with the potential for a significant transfer fee. There’s also the consideration that Salah, aware of the lucrative offers from the Middle East, may not be inclined to extend his Liverpool contract.
The Egyptian forward has had a strong start to the current season, scoring goals and making contributions. Liverpool seems keen on retaining him, at least for now.
