Curry was successful in converting a respectable 68.1 percent of his field goal attempts, including 7 of his 13 attempts from beyond the arc.
It took him 35 points, but he managed to go above Gary Payton and into 35th position on the all-time scoring record for the NBA.
On the second night of a back-to-back, the two-time MVP stepped up to the challenge, which was made necessary by the fact that Klay Thompson was unable to play because of knee pain.
The fans of the NBA took note.
After coming off the bench, Chris Paul contributed meaningful minutes to the squad by scoring 13 points, giving out five assists, and shooting 60 percent from the field. The Warriors’ bench players, as a whole, performed well, with backup big Dario Saric pulling down a game-high 10 rebounds to lead the Warriors.
In the meantime, Zion Williamson was having a hard time. Williamson struggled as a result of the additional defensive attention that he received from Draymond Green and Kevon Looney due to the fact that Brandon Ingram was nursing an injured knee.
Despite only shooting 7-16 from the field, the 23-year-old finished with a solid 19 points despite his poor shooting performance. In addition to his four turnovers, he was called for five fouls and finished with five boards, three assists, and five fouls.
The audience was not very enthusiastic. After the victory, the Warriors improved their record to 3-1, and each of their three wins has come on the road. On Wednesday, the Golden State Warriors will welcome the Sacramento Kings to their home arena, the Chase Center.
