King NBA Klay Thompson passes Jamal Crawford for 10th all-time in made 3-pointers

Thompson now takes his place among the most accomplished shooters in the annals of NBA history, putting him in extremely rare company.

The return to health of Klay Thompson has allowed him to resume his climb back up the NBA record books.

During Sunday’s game in Houston, the Warriors legend moved up to 10th place all-time in made 3-pointers, passing Jamal Crawford in the process. Thompson accomplished the accomplishment in classic manner by receiving a pass during a transition and then, without dribbling the ball, rising well beyond the 3-point arc to sink his 2,222nd career 3-point shot.

After missing the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons due to knee and Achilles operations, the five-time All-Star and four-time NBA champion Klay Thompson has returned to the Warriors, reuniting the Warriors’ iconic “Splash Brothers” tandem of Thompson and Stephen Curry.

It’s possible that Thompson will need additional games in order to catch up to still-active LeBron James, who is now in 9th place on the made 3-pointers list. Shooters who have since retired and gained widespread notoriety, such as Jason Terry (8th) and Vince Carter (7th), occupy significantly higher positions.
