WORLD CLASS – Manchester United fans in awe of Andre Onana’s point-blank save to deny Erling Haaland but his luck runs out

Even though Andre Onana hasn’t had the best of starts to his career at Manchester United, fans enjoyed the critical save that he made to deny Erling Haaland.

In the final seconds of stoppage time in the first half, Manchester City’s goalkeeper made a spectacular save to deny the Norwegian an opportunity to make it 2-0 to the hosts.

As a result of Bernardo Silva’s cross, Haaland had a golden opportunity to score, but Onana was there to track him down and keep United in the game.

The City superstar striker converted an early penalty kick and, in all likelihood, should have added another goal to his tally.

However, during a vital time, United’s goalie displayed his class, and fans were incredibly impressed by what they saw.

Despite the fact that Onana has struggled this season between the posts, one commenter on X referred to him as “the real man.”

A second participant chimed up, saying, “This guy found his confidence, could’ve been 0-3 already.”

As the two teams prepared to go into the halftime break, a third participant remarked, “That is one of the best saves I’ve ever seen in my life.”

A fourth user commented, “Onana is of world-class quality. Onana has reached at the final of the Champions League.”

Onana’s performances for United have come under scrutiny for much of the season having conceded 20 goals prior to the derby.

His save just before half-time was one of his best yet, but Haaland got the better of him early in the second half.

The City superstar was left completely unmarked towards the back post and was able to head in past Onana to make it 2-0.

Haaland then turned provider late on to assist Phil Foden for City’s third and final goal in a dominant win at Old Trafford.
