The Denver Nuggets are having a fantastic season in the 2022-23 NBA season. This team is working quietly, keeping a low profile, and letting their game do the talking, which has propelled them to the top of the Western Conference standings, led by Nikola Jokic, the defending back-to-back MVP.
Jokic, who has won this award the last two seasons, knows Denver has something special going on, but they need much more to make it all the way to the Finals and win the championship.
The Nuggets made intriguing offseason moves and welcomed back Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr., making them serious contenders to win it all this season. However, Jokic is not getting ahead of himself, and he recently explained what they need to win the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
The Joker was asked about his team’s chances of winning it all this season after making a statement against the impressive Cleveland Cavaliers, defeating them 121-108. He kept it real, admitting that they’re in a good spot right now, but there’s one thing that will be crucial to their championship hopes.\
“Yes. Most likely, yes. However, you never know. I believe the key word is consistency…if you’re consistent, you might be able to make something happen.”
The Nuggets are doing well this season, and Jokic is helping them to the top of the Western Conference standings. They have a strong case to win it all this season, and even Charles Barkley has named them the favorites to finish the season with the best conference record.
The story will change once the playoffs begin, but for now, the Nuggets appear to be a very solid and difficult to beat team. With Jokic performing at this level, and assuming Murray returns to his best form, they will have a good chance to win the West and compete for the NBA championship.
