NBA phenomenon Victor Wembanyama proved unstoppable when he and the San Antonio Spurs won their first match of the season, against the Houston Rockets.

The center made a basket with 20 seconds left in the fourth quarter, scored the opening point in overtime and finished the game with 21 points and 12 rebounds to help the Spurs win 126-122.

“I really enjoyed winning ,” Wembanyama shared. “It’s my favorite thing in life. Back in the locker room, coach Gregg Popovich reminded me this was my first NBA win. It made me momentarily proud of myself. Of course, that This is just the beginning and we have a long way to go.”

The whole match was not always favorable for Wembanyama. He scored 5 points in the first three minutes, but did not score any more points in the first half of the game, posting a 2-10 performance.

Wemby became the first Spurs player to score at least 20 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks in a match since Tim Duncan, and also became the second person in club history to score 20 points, 10 rebounds in a match. within the first 2 games, behind David Robinson.

Wembanyama spoke up at a critical moment

Devin Vassell scored 25 points and Keldon Johnson contributed 20 points for the Spurs, who lost to Dallas on opening day. On the other side of the front line, Alperen Sengun had 25 points, Fred VanVleet scored 24 more points and Jalen Green had 22 points, the Rockets still lost their 2nd match in a row.
