On Thursday, star forward Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers played against the Phoenix Suns. During the third quarter of the game, Davis displayed his mastery of the defensive position.

After grabbing the ball in the paint for the Suns, Jusuf Nurkic was able to pull off a convincing pump fake on Lakers player Rui Hachimura. After that, Nurkic got by Hachimura and made an attempt to complete the play at the rim. But then Davis came into the game to help out on defense, and he blocked Nurkic’s jump shot so that it went completely out of bounds.

Davis put up his third block of the game with that stop just as the Lakers’ comeback attempt was getting underway.
